Beyond the Holocaust: A Life of Thankfulness and Love
Sometimes great wrongs against us are so overpowering that we do not recognize the good deeds that benefit us. In the midst of Nazi barbarism, the Catholic community of St. Anna, Austria, risked their own lives to help Jewish labor camp prisoners. Sixty years later, Sandor Vandor returned to St. Anna to offer thanks for their moral righteousness and life-saving acts–a journey of gratitude that brings psychological freedom and a loving closeness between past victim and the present children of the righteous. Vandor describes how thankfulness and love can grow out of places and times of great evil. (Read excerpts from Sandor Vandor's book, St. Anna Revisited.)
